Chickasaw Nation announces general election results

Chickasaw Nation Election Secretary Rita Loder has announced results of the Chickasaw Nation general election.
Pickens District Seat 2 incumbent legislator Connie Barker, of Marietta, received 1,360 votes to defeat Michael T. Watson and Wanda Blackwood Tippit Scott, both of Ardmore, who received 540, and 231 votes, respectively.
Pontotoc District Seat 3 incumbent Katie Case, of Ada, received 1,805 votes to narrowly defeat challenger Dr. Karen Goodnight, of Goldsby, who received 1,703 votes.
Tishomingo District Seat 3 incumbent Steven Woods, of Davis, received 1,025 votes to defeat challenger Wes Harden, of Sulphur, who received 524 votes.
Incumbent legislator Dean McManus, of Ada, was unchallenged and retains Pontotoc District Seat 4.
Incumbent Supreme Court Justice Cheri L. Bellefeuille-Gordon, of Sulphur, was unchallenged and retains Seat 3 on the Chickasaw Supreme Court.
Elected officials will take the oath of office Wednesday, Oct. 1.
