Governor Anoatubby leads ribbon cutting ceremony for new Unconquered Life facility
ADA, Okla. — Chickasaw Nation Governor Bill Anoatubby led ribbon cutting ceremonies May 13 to open a new facility for the Unconquered Life program, marking an important step in providing space and opportunity to foster health and community.
Unconquered Life offers a medically integrated wellness journey focused on customized solutions to specific health concerns facing Chickasaw Nation employees and those covered on the tribe’s medical insurance.
“Today, as we cut the ribbon, we celebrate a new facility as well as a shared vision of health, community and opportunity. This is an important facility and an opportunity to increase and enhance the vital services offered by the Unconquered Life program,” Governor Anoatubby said.
“With this new space, when used in an all-encompassing wellness plan, it is our hope that participants will develop lifelong habits that support long-term health.”
The phrase “Unconquered and Unconquerable Chickasaw Nation” reflects the Chickasaw Nation’s long history of strength and resilience and the Chickasaw people’s ability to overcome obstacles and challenges to become a strong and vibrant nation.
“With Unconquered Life, we continue this tradition of perseverance and strength to overcome personal challenges and take the next steps in living a healthy and happy life,” Governor Anoatubby said.
The Unconquered Life program partners with individuals facing issues related to metabolic syndrome, obesity, diabetes, heart disease, high blood pressure and other health concerns.
“It aims to promote a healthier lifestyle for Chickasaws and employees rather than just treat symptoms,” he said.
The program goes beyond physical fitness and incorporates a holistic approach to wellness.
It provides a unique opportunity to progress beyond conventional health care by integrating five principal components impacting the life journey: clinical, nutrition, fitness, financial and quality of life.
The new 14,347-square-foot facility has been designed to incorporate these elements as Unconquered Life professionals work to create and support a culture of health and well-being.
It is a place to learn skills, practice healthy habits and more that are key to a healthier lifestyle.
The new facility includes a clinic, fitness lab, demonstration kitchen, a café serving healthy menu options and a drive-thru for online mobile ordering pickup. Locker rooms and showers complete the new facility.
The new Unconquered Life is located at 1331 East Arlington in Ada, Oklahoma.
