Good nutrition and children are top priorities at the Chickasaw Nation.

Packed Promise offers our children excellent nutrition delivered directly to their homes. Packed Promise is available to Chickasaw citizens. The program bridges the nutrition gap when the National School Lunch Program is not available.

Through Packed Promise, children receive a 30-pound box of shelf-stable food. The food box is shipped to their homes monthly. Each box provides food for one meal and two snacks for each school day of the month, plus a $15 FRESH CHECK for the purchase of fresh produce.

The program has proven successful in lowering household food insecurity. It has also improved diet quality in consumption of whole grains, fruits and vegetables. Participants have reported they no longer run out of food at month’s end, and they eat healthier. Home delivery is convenient and helps alleviate the cost and stress of frequent shopping trips.

Packed Promise is available to Chickasaw students in pre-K through grade 12 who qualify for free school meals and live within Chickasaw Nation boundaries. Participants must complete an application.

Fulfillment is similar to online grocery shopping. Each month, participants select a food package from the Packed Promise website, or by calling the program. The program is free to approved applicants, including all food, packaging and shipping.
