New Chickasaw physicians

Lt. Gov. Chris Anoatubby, center, joined new Chickasaw physicians Trey Gooch, left, and Erin Reynolds during their August 3 “White Coat Ceremony” in Tahlequah, Okla. Dr. Gooch and Dr. Reynolds received their white coats following their graduation from the Oklahoma State University College of Osteopathic Medicine at the Cherokee Nation. The institution, which opened its doors in 2018, is the first tribally-affiliated college of medicine in the country. A total of 54 medical students joined Dr. Gooch and Dr. Reynolds in the initial graduating class. Twenty percent of the new doctors are Native American.
