A leading American business publication has recently singled out the Chickasaw Nation Department of Commerce as one of America’s best employers for diversity.

Forbes magazine ranked the Department of Commerce among the top 500 of the publication’s annual list of “America’s Best Employers For Diversity.” The Chickasaw Nation entity was ranked #393 alongside firms such as Pfizer, Netflix, other telecommunications and technology companies, several universities and other corporations.

Forbes recognized the businesses for their dedication to diversity, equity and inclusion. Results were based on an independent survey of more than 50,000 employees working for businesses with at least 1,000 people.

Forbes partnered with market research company Statista to execute the survey and pinpoint the companies identified as most dedicated to diversity, equity and inclusion.

When compiling the list, the diversity of corporations’ boards and executive ranks were considered, as were diversity programs and recent allegations or unresolved lawsuits related to workplace diversity.

The final list ranks the 500 employers that received the most recommendations and has the most diverse boards and executive ranks, as well as the most proactive diversity and inclusion initiatives.

Forbes is a longtime American business magazine that produces articles on finance, industry, investing and marketing. The magazine is well known for its many lists, including the Forbes 400 richest Americans.
