SULPHUR, Okla. - The 2020 Artesian Arts Festival, set for May 23 in Sulphur, has been canceled.

As the coronavirus, or COVID-19, spreads globally and cases rise in the U.S., including Oklahoma, the Chickasaw Nation has canceled the annual event out of an abundance of caution. A celebration of all types of art, with an emphasis on Native American art and artists, the Artesian Arts Festival features diverse art media and a vast selection of visual art and music.

In 2019, the Artesian Arts Festival featured 125 elite Native American artists from 19 tribes, and welcomed more than 11,000 visitors to downtown Sulphur.
